Messaging Terms & Conditions
These Messaging Terms govern the SMS text-message program (the "Program") operated by Atheneum Academy LLC ("we," "us," or "our") for the About Time platform at abouttime.app. By opting in, you agree to these terms.
1. Program description
About Time sends SMS text messages for two opt-in purposes:
- Account security — one-time login and verification codes (two-factor authentication).
- Law & news alerts — notifications about homeschool-law changes and related news in the states you choose to follow.
2. How to opt in
You opt in to receive text messages inside your About Time account — by enabling two-factor authentication, or by subscribing to law & news alerts and providing your mobile number. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Security codes are sent only when you sign in or perform a protected action. Alert messages are sent when relevant updates occur in the states you follow.
4. Cost
We do not charge for the messages, but message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. You are responsible for any such charges.
5. How to opt out
You can cancel the SMS service at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation and then stop sending text messages, unless you opt in again. You can also manage SMS preferences in your account settings.
6. Help
For help, reply HELP to any message, or email contact@theatheneum.org.
7. Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission from your network operator and is not guaranteed.
8. Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are used solely to deliver the messages you request, and are never sold.

9. Changes
We may update these Messaging Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Your continued participation in the Program after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
